In any game, two of the biggest goals you can have as a team are to leave with a victory and get out of the game with your health. For the Oregon Ducks, it was two-for-two in Week 1 against the Boise State Broncos. The Ducks got a 34-27 win to open the year, and there didn’t appear to be any major injuries suffered.
That will hopefully be the case once again in Week 2 against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Going into this matchup, there are a few players we are keeping an eye on as far as availability goes, but the Ducks should be largely healthy for their first road game of the season. Based on conversations with coaches and players over the past month, or sources connected to the program, here’s a look at who we think will be potentially limited or held out of Saturday’s game against Oklahoma State:
Out/Not Playing
Wide Receiver Jalen Lott
5-star freshman WR Jalen Lott did not play in the season-opener against Boise State and was in street clothes with a wrap on his wrist. Dan Lanning confirmed on Monday that Lott underwent minor corrective surgery earlier this fall and would be expected to miss the next few weeks. Lott should return to the field sometime mid-season for the Ducks.
“Jalen will be down just for a little bit,” Lanning said. “(He) had a minor corrective surgery on his hand.”
Linebacker Brayden Platt
According to head coach Dan Lanning, Platt is still dealing with an undisclosed injury that held him out of the spring game earlier this year. Oregon’s coach does not expect him to return to the field anytime soon.
“He’s gonna be limited for a while with the injury he felt in the spring,” Lanning said of Platt. “I don’t want to put a timeline on it, but he’s going to be out for some time until we see where he’s at and continue to progress and challenge himself.”
Defensive Lineman Tony Cumberland
After being involved in a car accident earlier this year, freshman defensive lineman Tony Cumberland is also expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future, delaying his college debut.
“It’s a work in progress with him,” defensive line coach Tony Tuioti said. “I don’t think it’s going to be anything that we’ll be able to see him soon. But he’s made so much progress. I think the thing that’s most important is that we have him with us, and just having him in the room brings a smile to all our faces.”
Wide Receiver Dillon Gresham
After suffering a neck injury during fall camp a year ago, Gresham was held out for the entire 2025 season and has yet to return to the field. Oregon still has him on the roster, but it doesn’t sound like he will be back anytime soon.
“There’s not really a clear indication that Dillon’s going to be able to help us here in the future,” Lanning said of Gresham earlier this fall. “He’ll be a part of our team, but you know, from a medical standpoint, I don’t know if it’s clear that he’d be able to.”
Questionable To Play
Wide Receiver Iverson Hooks
The UAB transfer was in street clothes for Oregon’s season-opener last weekend, and Lanning confirmed on Monday that he tweaked his hamstring during practice leading up to the contest. Lanning also said that he expected Hooks to be ready to go this week vs. Oklahoma State.
“Iverson tweaked his hamstring in the middle of last week,” Lanning said. “He just wasn’t able to go full strength. Think we’ll have him back this week.”
Running Back Simeon Price
Colorado transfer RB Simeon Price was also in street clothes for Oregon’s game against Boise State. It is unclear whether or not he will be able to lace them up and play on Saturday at Oklahoma State.
Offensive Lineman Douglas Utu
Douglas Utu started the game at left tackle for the Ducks on Saturday, but left midway through and was replaced by Trent Ferguson. It is unclear if that was due to injury or a planned rotation. When asked about it on Monday, Lanning was unclear.
Offensive Lineman Tommy Tofi
There was an expectation among fans that freshman Tommy Tofi would get some snaps on Saturday against Boise State, and potentially even start. However, he did not play at all, and was off to the side during the game with walk-ons and injured players. It did not appear that he was getting ready to go into the game at all. There may be an injury that he is working with, or he may just need more time to get settled on the offensive line. We will monitor this going forward.
Probable/Playing
Wide Receiver Dakorien Moore
Dakorien Moore left the game late after taking a hard hit, but would later return. When asked about his status on Wednesday, he made it clear that he is physically fine and plans to play on Saturday.
“Physical update: I am perfectly fine and ready to go do what I have to do,” Moore said on Wednesday after practice.
