Three toy products sold through major retailers and online stores were recalled nationwide Thursday over potentially serious hazards to young children.

The recalls involve busy boards sold on Amazon, fire truck activity boards sold at Target and squishy toys distributed through third-party stores.

The products can pose choking hazards, while the squishy toys also contain water beads that may cause life-threatening intestinal blockages if swallowed.

More than 360,000 toys are included in the recalls.

No injuries or incidents have been reported involving the busy boards or squishy toys, while one minor injury was reported in connection with the fire truck activity boards.

200,000 BUSY BOARDS RECALLED

More than 200,000 popular toddler toys sold on Amazon have been recalled, with officials saying they pose a potentially deadly choking hazard to young children.

Esjay US is recalling about 276,000 Toddler Busy Board Montessori Toys after the red knobs on the products’ second page can detach, according to officials with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recalled toys violate the federal small-parts ban because they are intended for children under 3 years old.

No injuries or incidents have been reported.

The busy boards are made of blue felt and feature carrying handles, elastic cords and button closures. The front displays cartoon dinosaurs, while the back contains 26 alphabet squares, each paired with a cartoon animal. The boards have five pages in total; the page with the red knobs is the second page.

The toys were sold on Amazon.com from March 2023 through July 2026 for approximately $18 to $30.

FIRETRUCKS SOLD AT TARGET RECALLED

Around 84,000 toddler toys sold at Target stores have been recalled amid a potential choking hazard, officials say.

Melissa & Doug is recalling about 84,000 “Lights & Sounds Fire Truck” activity boards after the toy’s fire hose port was reported to come loose and detach, creating a potential choking hazard, according to officials with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The company has received 26 reports of the small port coming loose. One consumer reported a minor cut, according to the CPSC. The fire truck activity boards were sold at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from July 2025 through August 2026 for about $30.

The toys were imported by Melissa & Doug of Wilton, Connecticut, and manufactured in China.

The recalled toy is a red plastic fire engine with four black wheels, a rotating white ladder and activity-board features that activate lights and sounds.

Affected products have date wheels on the bottom showing manufacturing dates corresponding to April or May 2025, or March 2026. Packaging may display the date codes OET 25100, OET 25150 or OET 26064.

ANOTHER SQUISHY TOY RECALL

A popular squishy toy has been recalled over a deadly water-bead ingestion hazard, officials with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

About 276 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys have been recalled because water beads inside the toys can expand beyond permitted limits, posing potentially life-threatening ingestion, choking and intestinal-obstruction hazards to children, officials said Thursday.

The products were sold nationwide through various third-party stores from June through July 2026 for about $3. Officials did not specify which retailers they were sold at.

If swallowed, water beads can expand inside a child’s body and cause severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and intestinal blockage. In some cases, ingestion can result in death, according to the agency. No injuries or incidents have been reported.

The packaging is labeled “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.” The toys themselves have no markings other than the cartoon face.
