dpAMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – After an eventful Tuesday evening of tornadoes around the Amarillo region, followed up by heavy rains and flash flooding has now led into continuing showers into Wednesday morning.

Ongoing flash flood warnings will continue through this morning, as many places received several inches of rain last night, and there’s still one more push of rain showers possible as we start the morning.
Watch for water in low-lying areas and stay tuned for updates to road closures through the morning. Thankfully, after this last push of rain moves through, we see drier air filter in behind, bringing sunnier skies and an opportunity to dry out a little.
There will still be a lower chance for some spotty storms in our north this afternoon into tonight, but overall impacts will be mostly minimal.
Going into the rest of Wednesday, we will have crews out documenting road conditions, as well as checking where a tornado was confirmed to have touched down southwest of Amarillo. Stay tuned for updates and livestreams.
