dpPolish tennis player Iga Świątek will play American Iva Jović in Beijing, China, on Wednesday for a place in the WTA tournament quarterfinals. Her opponent was determined after Jović defeated Kamilla Rakhimova, who represents Uzbekistan, 6:1, 7:5. This was reported by Interia Sport.
Jović came back in the second set
The 18-year-old Jović, seeded 10th at the tournament, confidently won the first set, 6:1. Rakhimova made 25 unforced errors in it. At the same time, all games at the start of the match went to deuce: during the first four games, the tennis players spent around 30 minutes on court, and the American took a 4:0 lead.
In the second set, Rakhimova reduced the number of errors and took a 5:2 lead, having two set points at 15:40 on her opponent’s serve.
