LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The Liberty Flames are getting fired up for their first Midweek on the Mountain game.
Thousands will pack the stands at Williams Stadium to cheer them on.
The school wants students to show up to support the Flames Thursday night, so in-person classes will end at 12:30 p.m., then go remote.

There will also be parking changes for different lots throughout campus for tailgating purposes.
Athletic Director Ian McCaw said it makes a difference when the team is on their home turf.
“We usually get about 5,000 Liberty students attending the game. They just bring so much energy and create a great atmosphere that is a big lift for our team and really gives them the extra energy they need to pull out a big win.”
It’s not just students. Tried-and-true Flames fans from all over help bring that energy and pump up the team.
McCaw said it is a team effort.
“We put a lot of preparation into it. And again, it changes traffic patterns and classes and parking on campus. All those things have to be adjusted, and we have a great team effort from across campus to make sure it’s really successful,” McCaw said.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. vs. Sam Houston.
You can still get tickets online or at the gate.
