AUBURN, Ala. — No. 21 Auburn soccer returns home for the final home match of the year, taking on No. 23 Mississippi State on Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
“Coach O’Brien had a heck of a job on his hands rebuilding that roster and clearly has done a fantastic job doing it,” head coach James Armstrong said. “They’ve had some really impressive results both at home and on the road. They’ve got everything to play for as everybody’s trying to fight to secure a trip to Pensacola and then trying to get a bye as well.
The two teams last met in 2025, playing to a 1-1 draw in Starkville. Sunday’s matchup marks the 30th meeting between the programs, with Auburn holding a 19-6-4 advantage in the all-time series. The Tigers have been particularly dominant at home, where they remain unbeaten against Mississippi State with a 13-0-2 record.
Fans can add the soccer Aubie bobblehead to their collections as part of a series of five bobbleheads available at select Auburn home events throughout the season.
Last time out, Auburn soccer battled Kentucky to a 1-1 draw Thursday night, with junior Gracie Brown scoring her third goal of the season and goalkeeper Ayana Yapo recording a career-high five saves.
Auburn’s back line has allowed just four goals this season, leading the nation in GAA at 0.286. The Tigers are one of only three teams in the country with less than five goals allowed so far this season.
Mississippi State dropped its first SEC match of the season on Thursday night, being shut out by Oklahoma, 2-0. Despite not finding the back of the net, the Bulldogs outshot the Sooners, 13-10, and put six shots on target.
