LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A United Airlines flight headed to Newark returned to Harry Reid International Airport Saturday night after the crew reported a passenger disturbance.
United Flight 1681 from Las Vegas to Newark Liberty International Airport returned safely to Las Vegas around 11:05 p.m. after the crew reported the disturbance, described by United as “a potential security concern.”
On Monday, Oct. 26, LVMPD confirmed that one person had been taken into custody after making threats of terrorism on the flight.
After the flight returned, officers detained a suspect identified as 25-year-old Dante Milne on terrorism-related charges.
The Boeing 737 was carrying 150 passengers and 6 crew members, with no injuries reported, officials said.
LAS said the plane turned around shortly after takeoff.
The FAA said in a preliminary statement the flight returned safely and that the FAA will investigate.
United said the flight was delayed overnight due to crew timeout and departed for Newark the following morning.
Milne has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center, and court records show he has posted bond on his $10,000 bail. He is due in court on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
