Season 1 brings new content, gameplay updates, and improvements across Modern Warfare 4, with quality of life changes and balance updates coming to Multiplayer and DMZ.
In Multiplayer, four Maps join the rotation, including the return of Shoot House, alongside new Modes, Weapons, and Attachments. Season 1 also introduces a new 100-tier Battle Pass and a series of in-game Events, with additional content planned throughout the Season. We’ve also got fresh weapon tuning for the season.
DMZ expands with the arrival of a new Exclusion Zone, X01. Explore an underground GRANIT Arms facility beneath Hajin. Players can discover new areas, take on additional DMZ Orders, and encounter new threats and equipment as they venture deeper.
More Patch Notes? We’ll be sharing more updates ahead of Season 1’s launch later today. Let’s get after it.
GLOBAL
Stability
- We have opened up “Performance Mode (120Hz)” for all PlayStation 5 & XBOX Series X|S players with 120hz displays, regardless of VRR support. For the best experience, VRR is recommended.
Unauthorized Third-Party Software
Warzone Agent is an unauthorized, paid third-party application that enables “lobby shopping,” allowing players to assess lobby skill levels during pre-match warm-ups and avoid more competitive matches in favor of easier ones. While Warzone Agent does not provide traditional cheating functionality, such as aimbots or wallhacks, it creates an unfair advantage, undermines competitive integrity, and violates our Terms of Use.
- Beginning with Season 1, we are implementing the following enforcement measures:
- Software Detection: Players attempting to launch or access Warzone while running Warzone Agent will receive a notification instructing them to close the unauthorized software.
- Access Restrictions: Players who do not close Warzone Agent will be prevented from accessing Multiplayer modes. Campaign access will remain unaffected.
- Enforcement: Players who attempt to circumvent these restrictions and continue using the software may face temporary or permanent account and/or hardware bans.
Maintaining a fair and competitive environment is a priority for us. While unauthorized tools may not always resemble traditional cheats, any software that provides an unfair advantage undermines the experience for other players. We’ll continue taking action against tools and behaviors that compromise the integrity of Warzone.
Events
- Threat Briefing: Battle Tank
- Destroy Battle Tank threats in DMZ. Loot and exfil armor fragments to earn rewards.
- Wager Match (Coming Soon)
- Fight for top billing in the Wager Match Event, where Trophies are the currency and collecting more of them earns valuable rewards including multiple Weapon Attachments. Enter the Gauntlet 1v1 Gunfight playlist in Multiplayer, and other challenges across DMZ and Call of Duty: Warzone.
Lookout for additional intel soon as additional events (including camo events, DMZ events and more) will arrive throughout Season 1 and Season 1 Reloaded.
Battle Pass
Season 1 introduces a streamlined, linear 100-tier Battle Pass. Modern Warfare 4’s Battle Pass launches with a new system that automatically catches players up to the reward corresponding with the current day of the Season, up to Day 50. Battle Pass owners who complete all 100 tiers will also have an opportunity to earn additional bonus rewards later in the Season.
The Season 1 Battle Pass content includes:
- Two new Base Weapons
- Operator Skins
- Weapon Blueprints
- Finishing Moves
- Calling Cards
- Weapon Charms
- Reticles
- Double XP Tokens
- COD Points
- DMZ Survival Kits
- Additional cosmetic rewards
