dpLILBURN, Ga. — A small earthquake was reported Wednesday morning in Gwinnett County.
USGS coordinates centered the earthquake in a subdivision off Steve Reynolds Blvd. near Freeman Lake. It was recorded at a depth of 4.6km.
The largest earthquake on record in Georgia is a 4.5 magnitude quake recorded on March 5, 1914 near Madison. The last quake in the Peach State larger than a 4.0 was a 4.2 near LaFayette in October 1984. There was also a 4.6 across the Alabama border northwest of Rome in 2003 and a 4.1 in South Carolina north of Augusta in 2014.
