dpWASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — First Alert Weather continues to track thunderstorms across the DMV. A severe thunderstorm watch has been posted for parts of 7News viewing area area until 9 p.m.
The watch includes all areas inside and around the beltway.
Storms will continue to develop through the evening, with the greatest threat until 8 p.m.
Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and large hail will be the main threats. Frequent lightning and heavy rain are also possible. An isolated, low end tornado cannot be ruled out.
A watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop. If a warning is issued for your area, move indoors and away from windows.
