dpAward-winning actress and Texas native Eva Longoria is starring in a new show, and its lineup is serving up plenty of star power with a side of Texas-sized eats.
Called “NFL Hometown Eats,” the show is a three-episode limited series from the Roku Channel. Each episode will follow “one die-hard celebrity fan” while they hang out with their favorite NFL superstar “in celebration of football, fandom and food,” according to show’s trailer.
Longoria, who also serves as an executive producer, will appear in an episode alongside Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware.
Rebel Wilson will appear with Super Bowl champion Devon Witherspoon, while Joel McHale will be paired with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams.
Longoria and Ware explore the North Texas food scene, stopping at Coppell Deli, 449 W. Bethel Road in Coppell, for oversized sandwiches and Hurtado Barbecue, 205 E. Front St. in Arlington, for brisket birria tacos and smoked quail.
While the series features some of football’s biggest names, Longoria said the focus is also on the food and communities surrounding the sport.
“In every football city stands a stadium, and a neighborhood full of fans who live and breathe football,” Longoria said. “But it’s the food, the hometown eats, that make game day worth showing up for.”
The show premiered on Monday, with every episode now available to stream for free on the Roku Channel.
