Beckham started by asking Carell how long he has been married. Carell proudly said, “It’s been 30 years.” Beckham then shared that he has been happily married for 28 years. He said, “Supporting your partner through family stuff, through work stuff, always being there, always being present, and making the time to pay attention.” For Beckham, being there means truly paying attention to your partner’s needs and being present. Carell agreed, adding that “You grow with somebody. You do.
