Viewers who missed some of the top NCAA women’s volleyball programs on TV last weekend in Milwaukee get a second chance this weekend in Pittsburgh when the University of Wisconsin plays in the Opening Spike Classic.
After splitting matches against No. 3 Louisville and No. 7 Kentucky at Fiserv Forum in the AVCA First Serve, the No. 6 Badgers face two more powerhouses.
UW will first face No. 5 Stanford on Friday, Aug. 28. It’ll be the opening match this season for the Cardinal, which will be looking to avenge a 3-1 loss in the 2025 regional semifinal.
The Opening Spike isn’t played in a tournament format so, regardless of the Aug. 28 result, the Badgers will face No. 4 Pittsburgh on Sunday, Aug. 30. The Panthers (2-0) were also in Milwaukee and won both their matches, against No. 3 Kentucky and Xavier.
