dpCaptain Sandy Yawn’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
At Season 11’s final tip meeting, Captain Sandy announced that her crew had earned a grand total of $253,518 in gratuities across nine charters. “Oh my God, we made it!” she told the team. “Every one of you have learned. I’ve watched you grow. It’s been incredible to witness.”
Afterward, Captain Sandy’s wife, Leah Shafer, even joined her aboard Akira One for a romantic dinner during the finale. Post-filming, the couple of seven years celebrated their second wedding anniversary in May 2026.
“With you by my side, I feel safe, deeply loved, and like I can conquer anything life brings,” Captain Sandy captioned an Instagram post, in part, at the time. “Marrying my wife wasn’t just the best day of my life — it was proof that it’s never too late for a new beginning.”
Fans can look forward to Captain Sandy returning for Below Deck Med Season 12, which will feature a crossover event with the Summer House Season 11 cast.
Aesha Scott’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
After filming wrapped, Aesha married Scott Dobson in an early March 2026 ceremony that took place in New Zealand, and viewers even got a behind-the-scenes look at her wedding day. Among the chief stew’s castmates, past and present, in attendance were Captain Sandy, Hannah Ferrier, Anastasia Surmava, and Gael Cameron.

“I’ve never felt this way walking out of a charter season,” Aesha remarked in a confessional from Below Deck Med‘s Oct. 5 episode. “For the last decade, I’ve worked on boats. That’s all I’ve known and that’s all I’ve really thought about.”
She continued, “But then this amazing man has come into my life and decided he wants to spend his life with me, and I want to spend my life with him. And I truly have no idea what our future is gonna look like, but I’m really excited to find out.”
Like Captain Sandy, Aesha will also be back for Season 12, and she has already teased what to expect from the Summer House crossover.
Joe Bradley’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
Though they departed the yacht on good terms amid their boatmance, Joe and Kayley are not in a relationship today. In fact, Joe revealed during his Aug. 3 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that he’s not dating anybody right now. “I’m growing, I’m evolving, and I’m focusing on myself,” he told host Andy Cohen.
During a subsequent WWHL interview on Sept. 29, Joe also shared that he’d also ditched his OnlyFans account sometime around July 2026, in order to focus on a career pivot into his own online fitness coaching business.
“That was a part of my business where I had to get a bit of money,” he said, referring to his OnlyFans content creation. “I come from a humble beginning. … But now I’ve got my own company, I’m an online coach, and that was in the past.”
Chef Joy Lefaucheur’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
Though former Season 11 deckhand Luke Brumer surprised Chef Joy in the finale, the two have remained friendly, but they are not currently dating.
In the interim, Joy told Bravo Insider that she’s still in touch with “pretty much everybody” in the cast, specifically naming Cooper, Kayley, Aesha, Captain Sandy, Joe, and Kat.
“Cooper, we do some collab pretty much every week,” Chef Joy said. “I think it’s important to lift up the other crew members on their social media or their future business or whatever, because we’ve been doing the great adventure together. So, if we can lift each other up, it’s important.”
Gen Lillie’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
Today, Gen still talks to Kat on a regular basis. “I would say she’s the only one I’ve really kept up with,” Gen told Bravo Insider in July 2026. “I’m actually still in yachting, as opposed to a lot of my other crew members, so it’s been just hard to keep up with all of it.”
After Season 11, Gen worked as a freelancer on two boats in Florida, before spending summer 2026 in the northeastern United States. “I am a second stew right now, since I know that’s a whole debacle,” she said. “Otherwise, I have been spending a lot of time back home in New York City with my parents and seeing friends there and really connecting with my home life. I’ve also been visiting family in Texas.”
After a tumultuous season that included a love triangle with Luke, Gen said that she’s also “chosen to stay single” over the past year. “I think watching [the season] back made me realize I wanna stay single because men are gross,” she added. “But I think it made me realize that I still have a lot of work to do with myself. But again, I’m 23. There’s many years ahead for that.”
Gen continued, “Once everything happened with Luke, it was this weird switch in my head. I was like, ‘OK, I need to, A, work on myself, B, work on my taste in men, and C, just take a step back and breathe, because clearly like this is not how I’m gonna meet my future husband. I’m gonna meet my future husband by becoming the best version of myself.”
Kayley Smith’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
In her exclusive interview with Bravo Insider, Kayley revealed that she and Joe took a trip to Indonesia with Kat and one of her friends, post-filming. “We all got along really well,” she recalled. “Aside from all of his fun red flags that we love to see pop up here and there, he actually is a great person. And I think that shines through in parts of the show that you guys can see. I feel very grateful I get to know that side of him too.”
Further remarking her and Joe’s dynamic now, Kayley reiterated, “We’re good, honestly, exactly like we were on the boat. We were just kind of having our fun. We’re not like that, obviously, anymore. We’re just good friends. And I think it’s really nice. He’s silly, but we do test each other’s patience a lot. And we are very quick to kind of bite each other’s heads off but forgive very quickly as well.”
Aside from Joe, Kayley is still in touch with “pretty much everyone,” except for Gen. “I think that’s OK though,” she said, referring to her fellow interior crew member. “Probably for the best.”
Professionally, Kayley went on to “accidentally” become the chief stew on another boat, after the original hire unexpectedly left the role. That put her in the “scary” position of being the sole stew on a 50-meter yacht. “It came with my mistakes, but with my wins as well, which was really great,” she added. “But now, I’m back in Australia and I’m just back to my traveling. For the last three consecutive years, I have worked about four months of the year and then travel, travel, travel. I’m just a little travel bugger.”
Next up on Kaley’s itinerary? “I am going to go and move to Japan, actually,” she said. “I’m so excited. I’m going to go and do a ski season there.”
Kat Johnston’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
Though Kat’s boatmance with Cooper fizzled in the end, she’s maintained close relationships with several castmates, including Aesha, Gen, and Kayley. They’ve even “done a lot of traveling” together between her various gigs around the globe, as she shared with Bravo Insider.
“I’m living in Nova Scotia right now,” Kat said in August 2026. “And I’m moving to London next month. I’m in and out of yachting, so I’m hoping to get a land-based job in London. I always say it’s like the golden handcuffs, so I always end up back in the industry. Even though I’m over it, I always seem to end up back.”
Kat said she’s also been prioritizing family time, adding, “I try to spend time with family a lot, ’cause the past two years I’ve just been traveling, like, straight, with yachting. So I try to come back to my roots a bit and be grounded. I love being at home, like as the show’s airing, because I just want to be around my family.”
Cooper Dawson’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
Despite his and Kat’s boatmance not going the distance, Cooper ended Season 11 with plenty of valuable lessons, both personally and professionally.
“Coming into this season, I said I was greener than a green bean,” he noted in an Episode 18 confessional. “But now, I feel like I’ve learned so much about being a deckhand, about being in a boatmance. So, yeah, I’m not perfect, but I’m more yellow. Yellow like a school bus.”
His growing period wasn’t always easy to watch, though. In an August 2026 Instagram caption, Cooper, who is based in Charleston, South Carolina, joked that he was “squirming through 90% of every episode.”
Massi Scarcia’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
After officially coming aboard Akira One as deckhand Max Salvador’s replacement in Episode 14, Massi remarked during the finale, “It’s been a blast. It’s been a short season for me. I really wish I had more time here.”

Referencing his immediate crush on Chef Joy, Massi added, “If I did, I would definitely be walking off this boat with Joy. Joy, if you change your mind, I’m willing to pay somebody to fight Luke for me for you.”
Based on Massi’s Instagram, it appears that he was able to move on and currently has another girlfriend, however. Sharing several romantic photos with a woman on Oct 1., he noted in his caption that they were already celebrating their anniversary.
Luke Brumer’s life after Below Deck Med Season 11
Though a post-filming relationship never fully blossomed between Luke and Chef Joy, he does have a new girlfriend today. “Yes, I’m in a relationship … a very happy one,” Luke revealed during a virtual Aug. 3 appearance on WWHL, going on to share that his new woman does not work on boats “at all.”
He said that she did watch the show, however, admitting that her reaction was “not the greatest.” Still, Luke underscored his “growth,” since filming wrapped.
On the professional front, Luke is still working both in the yachting industry and as a personal trainer. At the time of his WWHL interview, he said he was part of a boat crew in Australia.
Now that the cast’s time together on Akira One has ended, don’t miss a roundup of all the Below Deck Med Season 11 charter guests that they served.
