Josh Duhamel had a recent revelation about his 21-year age gap with his wife, Audra Mari.
During a Monday, July 13, appearance on “The HoneyDew With Ryan Sickler” podcast, Duhamel, 53, spoke about the age gap he has with Mari, 32 — and opened up about his recent realization that she is the same age as his youngest sister, Cassidy.
“Cassidy came along and I was playing football at Minot State University,” he shared. “Warming up on the field. I remember looking up at the stands and I saw my mom and had this bump. And I’m like, ‘What the— Is my mom pregnant?’ I’m 21 years old … and she’s having another baby.”
“There’s a picture of me holding Cassidy as a 21-year-old young man with this little bitty infant,” he continued. “I looked at the photo and I looked at my wife and I said, ‘You know, you and Cassidy are exactly the same age.'”
“…I am officially too old for you,” he joked to laughs from Sickler. “They’re literally like months apart in age. I never looked at it like that until I saw that photo. I was like, ‘Wait a second.'”

The Ransom Canyon actor and former Miss North Dakota USA got married in September 2022 in Fargo, N.D., after roughly three years of dating.
The couple are parents to son Shepherd, 2, and daughter Rocca, born in May 2026. The Transformers alum is also a dad to son Axl, 12, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Fergie.

During a September 2023 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Duhamel shared that he first connected with Mari by sliding into her DMs after she’d “won some pageants” in North Dakota.
“I invited her over to a BBQ one weekend, and she came, and I was like, ‘Wow, you’re beautiful,’ ” he told the hosts, admitting he wasn’t sure a romance was possible given their 20-plus-year age gap.
He continued, “We started dating and, you know, here we are, five years later, with a baby on the way. She’s a pretty amazing girl, she really is.”
Just before the couple welcomed their second child in May, Duhamel opened up about becoming a girl dad for the first time in an interview with Yahoo News.
“Oh, she’s going to have me wrapped around her finger,” he shared. “I can already tell.”
The actor also shared that he recognizes that he’s in a unique position, welcoming more children in his 50s, as “all my friends are either sending their kids off to college or becoming grandfathers.”
“Here I am having more kids, but this is the way I was supposed to do it,” he said, adding that his mindset is different as he welcomed a third baby. “I’m not as stressed out as I was before. I can really focus on and appreciate how awesome kids are.”
