Meghan Markle has officially made her first public appearance since moving back to the UK, stepping out with Prince Harry in Nottingham. During the outing, though, many noticed that Meghan wasn’t wearing her engagement ring.
This isn’t entirely unusual, as Meghan has rarely been seen with the sparkler. According to The Daily Mail, the former Suits star hasn’t been seen showing off the ring for nearly nine months. In fact, Meghan was reportedly last photographed flaunting the diamond at an NBA game in February 2026.

Royal observers expected to spot Meghan’s ring, given that the city holds special significance as the couple’s first walkabout after their 2017 engagement. But alas, the jewel was nowhere to be seen.
Meghan’s decision to forgo her engagement ring comes amid rumors that she and Harry aren’t really seeing eye to eye since returning to the UK. The former actress reportedly misses life in the US, and a source told People she’s planning to visit California for the holidays.
“She’s keeping busy, as she always does, and staying in close contact with her friends in Montecito,” the insider explained. “She does miss home — and her mom. They’re planning to come back for the holidays. Meghan’s looking forward to seeing her friends and making plans with them already.”
Star previously reported that Meghan is extremely “homesick” and struggling to adjust to life overseas. An insider told the outlet that she’s “doing her best to keep her chin up and put on a happy face” because Harry’s “been begging her to cheer up and have some patience,” but nothing can “change the fact that she is desperately homesick already.”
“Meghan does have friends in the area and Harry assumed that would help, but this is about more than just being lonely,” they added. “The uncomfortable truth is that Meghan’s struggling with the stuffiness and slow pace of the U.K. so this isn’t something that can really be fixed, even for a problem solver like her.”
The move has also allegedly taken a toll on Meghan and Harry’s marriage, with a separate source telling RadarOnline that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “discovering that wanting to build a new chapter together and actually making that chapter work are two very different things.”
“There was a great deal of optimism when they first discussed returning to Britain, particularly on Harry’s side,” the insider continued, noting that Harry “genuinely believed they could establish something financially rewarding, reconnect with parts of his old life and give their children a sense of belonging in the country where he grew up.”
However, the “practical reality has been considerably more complicated, and that is beginning to expose some fundamental differences between them and is pushing their marriage to the limit.”
