Although terms of the deal were not announced, Sportsnet’s Blake Murphy reported it’s an Exhibit 10 contract for Bittle. This is a one-year minimum-salary NBA deal that is not fully guaranteed, often used during the off-season and into training camp for roster evaluation, while allowing teams the ability to retain a player’s G League rights should they be waived.
Bittle, 23, spent all five of his NCAA seasons playing for his native Oregon Ducks. He averaged a career-best 16.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks last year with the Ducks through 25 games.
The seven-foot, 250-pound centre also attempted 4.5 threes per game, converting at a 31.9 per cent clip.
Bittle, a former All-Big Ten selection and finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Centre of the Year award, is part of the Raptors’ Las Vegas Summer League squad that gets into action on Friday.
