New information about the upcoming update of the cult adventure western has appeared in the gaming community and specialized media. Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PlayStation 5 platform. According to leaks from industry insiders, Rockstar Games plans to release a full-fledged native version of the project, which will replace the original PlayStation 4 game’s standard backward compatibility launch. The publisher previously used a similar model when releasing the first installment. Red Dead Redemption on modern platforms, when audiences were offered basic technical improvements without radically reworking the graphic assets and fundamental basis of the original game engine.
The key innovation the community is eagerly awaiting in the remaster is the official introduction of a 60 FPS mode. Since its 2018 release, the console version has remained locked at 30 FPS, resulting in noticeable lag when aiming and controlling a horse, despite the capabilities of today’s high-speed hardware. The native upgrade will utilize the console’s integrated processor and graphics chip to eliminate frame drops, improve the clarity of vegetation and environmental textures, and minimize open-world load times by directly accessing the console’s high-speed solid-state drive.
Regarding the release date of the enhanced Western, the next-gen version is expected to arrive after the release of the crime blockbuster Grand Theft Auto VI. Currently, Rockstar Games’ production resources are fully focused on the final polish and extensive marketing campaign of its flagship title, so the release of any accompanying re-releases has been put on the back burner. Releasing the updated Western in the post-release period will allow the company to effectively maintain user activity between content seasons of its main online projects, offering console owners a stable gameplay experience with a higher frame rate.
