Mitch Marner and Victor Olofsson also scored and Hill made 18 saves for the Golden Knights (2-1-0), who bounced back from a 4-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
“Obviously, the second goal there, I got to have that one back, but the guys responded well and scored the next shift, which was huge,” said Hill, who made nine saves in the third period of his first start this season. “Got us a lead back right away and we closed her out from there.”
Paul Cotter scored and Kevin Lankinen made 25 saves for the Canucks (2-2-0), who were playing back-to-back after a 4-1 win against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.
“For a team that everybody in the world has said, ‘This (team) is going to be last in the League,’ I’m pretty happy with how we’ve been doing,” said Cotter. “We have a great group. I’ve said it 10 times, but we have a very egoless group. We have a mix of older, younger guys and guys in between, and a lot of skill. And when you have a room that’s that close and willing to get better together, that can take you so far. So, we’ve battled. We’ve had a couple great teams we’ve played against here early, and we’re going to continue to try to be better.”
