dpFans at New York Comic Con 2026 got a surprise first look into the mind of Vision.
Before Marvel Television’s VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ on October 14, stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Ruaridh Mollica, and Emily Hampshire joined showrunner Terry Matalas at New York Comic Con 2026, where they teased the upcoming series.
Bettany reprises his role as the synthezoid Vision, who has been in hiding searching for new meaning by consulting with the AI personas embedded in his programming, including EDITH (Hampshire) and the infamous Ultron (Spader). His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard (Mollica), a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate.
Bettany told the crowd that VisionQuest will conclude the story that began with WandaVision and Agatha All Along. “I’ve been hanging out with Terry, trying to figure out how we can tell a Super Hero story about fathers and sons but one with a robot and a human son,” Bettany said. “Terry suggested we get the band back together and call Spader up, and that’s when I knew we had a show.”
“Here’s the thing I will say about this show: It was really made with love, from the Marvel execs to our brilliant writing staff to everyone at Pinewood [Studios] and all our brilliant creative department heads and visual effects,” Matalas added. “We just had the best time making it. It’s made with love, and I think you can see that on screen.”
The VisionQuest team closed out the Marvel Television and Animation NYCC panel by treating fans to a surprise screening of the first episode.
