Police arrested 23-year-old Andrea Shaw in Boise more than a year after her twin toddlers were found dead in May 2025.
PAYETTE, Idaho — A Payette County grand jury has indicted a former Payette woman on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, authorities said.
Andrea Shaw, 23, was indicted on Monday and arrested at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, over a year after the initial incident, according to Payette County Police Chief Gary Marshall. The charges stem from an investigation into the deaths of her two children, who were found dead May 1, 2025, at a home on North Ninth Street in Payette, according to the Payette Police Department.

Following the indictment, a warrant was issued for Shaw’s arrest, according to authorities.
The twins were found dead in a shared bed in Northgate Mobile Park in Payette. At the time, Payette Police Department (PPD) said they were treating the case as a homicide.
Shaw went on a podcast in the days to follow, claiming vaccines were the cause of the their deaths. KTVB spoke to Shaw’s private attorney, Joseph Filicetti, who said he also believes the twins died from vaccinations.
“They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it to be,” Filicetti said. “I’m not a medical expert, but the medical experts I have, [they] go through a series of [steps] when looking at different complications.”
Filicetti said he was surprised by the grand indictment, and that both Shaw and her husband complied with law enforcement.
“They’ve both been in the area for over a year knowing something could happen, and they didn’t run,” he said.
KTVB asked Filicetti for documents, but he did not provide any additional evidence to support the claim that vaccines lead to the toddler’s deaths. He also said because of the legal process involved in a grand jury indictment, he has not yet read the documents and does not know the basis of any legal argument he may make, because he does not know the basis for the charges.
Boise Police officers arrested Shaw at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, police said. She is being held at the Ada County Jail, pending extradition to Payette County.
Payette Police said the arrest followed a lengthy investigation conducted with assistance from several agencies, including Idaho State Police Forensic Services, the Ada County Coroner’s Office, the Boise Police Department, the Payette County Prosecutor’s Office and the Payette County Coroner’s Office.
Because the case is now before the courts, police said they would not release additional details about the investigation or evidence.
Once returned to Payette County, Shaw is scheduled to be arraigned on the two first-degree murder charges.
Filicetti said he has not spoken to Shaw, but planned to contact her at the jail later on Tuesday evening. He also said Shaw recently gave birth to a newborn baby — born prematurely, three weeks early. He said Shaw’s husband is taking care of the baby.
“They had a child born on June 25,” he said. “She’s nursing and using bottle feeding … and now she’s in a jail.”
