SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Lennox High School has been named one of the top 40 finalists in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition, and it’s the only South Dakota school to earn the honor!
The Lennox School District will receive $25,000 for athletic facility upgrades, along with a T-Mobile-hosted game celebration Friday, Oct. 9. The Orioles will compete against nine other Midwest schools for the division finalist spot.
“Being named a Top 40 Finalist through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Under the Lights program is an incredible honor for Lennox School District and our entire community. The $25,000 award is much more than a financial contribution—it is the seed that will help us begin a capital campaign to renovate and revitalize our athletic complex, which is now more than 30 years old. Our community continues to grow, and with that growth comes increasing participation in our athletic programs,” said Lennox School District Superintendent Adam Shaw.
The division finalist will receive an additional $250,000 in facility upgrades and other benefits. The overall competition winner will receive $1 million.
