Beyoncé is the ultimate everything: founder, musician, inspiration… the list could go on and on to fill enough pages to print an encyclopedia. i-D’s new Beyoncé special Cécred poster zine is a bit shorter, but still contains all the strength and beauty of Queen B. In exclusive imagery, printed poster-scale, Beyoncé shows off the best of her Cécred products, the haircare brand she is the sole founder, investor and Chairwoman of, founded in 2024, with her mother Ms. Tina Knowles as Vice Chairwoman. And in an exclusive interview with Eni Subair, Beyoncé and Ms. Tina, discuss Cécred and what they’ve learned from a lifetime of haircare. The limited-edition zine comes on the 20th Anniversary of her last appearance in i-D, which celebrated the 2006 release of B’DAY, and is only available to purchase directly from i-D here. A sneak peek from Beyoncé’s interview is exclusively below.
ENI SUBAIR: What has been the most rewarding part of building Cécred?
BEYONCÉ: My mother and I poured decades of experience, tradition, and love into Cécred, so seeing our community grow across every ethnicity, texture, generation, and gender is so fulfilling. In the beginning, it took some conditioning from the world’s perception of how to launch a brand founded by someone like me. I’m the founder, visionary, and sole investor—not the face or model for this brand. I had a vision to build something that solved real problems and performed so incredibly that the people who can’t stand my music still use Cécred, haaaa! … because it works.
