Chrissy Teigen shared final photos with her father’s casket to social media, sparking debate over privacy.
The model, 40, lost her father, Ron Teigen, suddenly on June 9. On Tuesday, June 16, the mother of four shared photos on her Instagram Stories from inside his funeral, including one with husband John Legend and their eldest daughter, Luna, sitting in front of the casket.
While Chrissy did not include any text or music, fans were quick to strike up a debate on social media.
“She has to make every tragic event in her life a photo op. It’s the only way to keep herself relevant,” one Facebook user claimed.
Another hinted at a resemblance to the controversial images Erika Kirk shared at husband Charlie Kirk‘s September funeral, calling the images “a little kirky.”

A third noted, “This is a private moment. Why did she post this?”
“I know that people in the public eye are used to being photographed all the time but something like this should be private,” another commenter wrote.
However some fans expressed support. “People grieve differently & not up to your expectations,” one pointed out.
“If I could’ve taken a photo next my dad’s casket and had a way for the whole world to know his name, know how much he mattered and was loved I definitely would’ve done it,” another wrote.
Chrissy previously opened up about her father’s passing, sharing that it was a normal day until she received the phone call.
“All the same things happened. Hurried shower. Picked up stuffing from the dog toys. Answered some emails. Avoided some. Laughed with my friends and put on a pretty dress for a friend’s birthday. Took a video. How cute is this dress!” Chrissy wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “And then my dad just like…[expletive] died.”
