dpIndeed, Lea has been hard at work on Anna Pigeon. In addition to her producing role, she also helmed four episodes of the wilderness-based crime drama, directing both lead actress Tracy Spiridakos and several of her animal costars.
“It was really hard because you don’t have much time,” Lea said of working with animals on set. “There’s all kinds of crazy things and it makes it really hard on the actors and the director, but I love that kind of challenge.”
She added, “This show was a real challenge as a director and as a producer to figure out how to make it big on a smaller budget.”
Anna Pigeon premieres on USA Network Aug. 7.
