dpESPNтАЩs Kirk Herbstreit has a pretty good idea where тАЬCollege GameDayтАЭ is heading in two weeks from now.
The 40th season of тАЬCollege GameDayтАЭ kicked off in Baton Rouge, as Herbstreit and the crew covered a matchup between Clemson and LSU. One week later, the popular ESPN show made its way to the Lone Star State to preview what ended up being a classic between Ohio State and Texas.
тАЬCollege GameDayтАЭ is in Oxford this weekend to cover Lane KiffinтАЩs return to Ole Miss. Both he and the LSU football team are expected to face a hostile crowd at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Although Week 5 isnтАЩt here yet, Herbstreit teased that тАЬCollege GameDayтАЭ could make its way over to North Carolina for the first time since November 1997. Bill BelichickтАЩs squad is set to host Notre Dame on October 3.
тАЬIf North Carolina beats Clemson, I would think Notre Dame at North Carolina is probably the leader in the clubhouse,тАЭ Herbstreit said on Pat McAfeeтАЩs ESPN show.
Now that Herbstreit shared that information, North CarolinaтАЩs showdown with Clemson looks a lot more interesting.
Another Week 5 destination we canтАЩt ignore.
If North Carolina fails to take down Clemson this weekend, the pressure shifts over to Iowa.
On paper, a Week 5 matchup between Iowa and Ohio State seems awfully intriguing. However, the Hawkeyes need to take care of business to make sure theyтАЩre worth getting special treatment from тАЬCollege GameDay.тАЭ
For what itтАЩs worth, тАЬCollege GameDayтАЭ hasnтАЩt been to Iowa City in a long, long time.
