Harrison Ford is lending his likeness to an animatronic version of Indiana Jones for a new attraction at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, marking the first time the actor has served as the physical model for a robotic version of the iconic character, Page Six reports.
The 84-year-old actor revealed at the D23 fan event that he will appear in “Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent,” an upcoming attraction at the Florida theme park.
“Soon it’ll be time for his next ride, and I’m pleased to share that, for the first time ever, I’m the actual model of the Indiana Jones animatronic — fear of snakes included,” Ford said in a pre-recorded video message played for fans.
The Academy Award nominee has portrayed the archaeology professor across five films spanning more than four decades. The franchise launched with “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981 and has earned more than $2.3 billion at the worldwide box office, Page Six noted. Ford last played the character in 2023’s “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”
The announcement follows Ford’s receipt of the Life Achievement Award at the 2026 SAG Actor Awards, which honored his seven-decade career. During his acceptance speech, the actor joked about the timing of the recognition.
“It’s a little weird to be getting a lifetime achievement award at the halfway point of my career,” Ford said, per Page Six. “It’s a little early, isn’t it? I’m still a working actor.”
Ford, who also starred as Han Solo in the “Star Wars” franchise and currently appears in the series “Shrinking,” expressed gratitude to his wife, Calista Flockhart, and his family during his recent honors.
