SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Davis County Friday afternoon.
The warning includes Layton, Kaysville, Farmington, Mountain Green, Morgan and surrounding areas and remains in effect until 2:15 p.m.
A funnel cloud was observed with the storm over northern Davis County, according to NWS Salt Lake City.
The National Weather Service said radar indicated a possible tornado. Ping-pong ball-sized hail was also possible.
People in the warned area should seek shelter in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of Weber and Davis counties as storms continued Friday afternoon.
The storm brought the threat of wind gusts over 60 mph, half-dollar-size hail, heavy rain and possible flash flooding.
