The WTA Washington tournament moves along with the Round of 16 on Wednesday. This is a 500-point tournament, so for players to come away with a really big points increase this week, they will need to get to the weekend. Not every player can win the tournament, but four can make the semifinals, which would mean a gain of almost 200 ranking points. Winners in this Round of 16 will therefore move into the quarterfinals, one win away from the semifinals and that hoped-for points bump. WTA Washington has some really attractive matches to offer on Wednesday. There is a lot for tennis fans to love. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.
WTA Washington
Fernandez – Eala: 11:00 EST
H2H: 1-0
Leylah Fernandez is the defending champion at the WTA Washington tournament. She has had a difficult 2026 season, but she is still in the top 35 of the rankings because of the 500 points she gained last year at this same event. Now, though, she is under real pressure to defend those points and avoid a big fall in the WTA rankings. She looked really good in the first round against Magda Linette, cruising to a straight-set win. She takes on Alexandra Eala, who had the great Wimbledon run and won her first-round match in Washington against Qinwen Zheng. This is a very attractive match for the earlier rounds of a WTA 500 event. It’s a better match than a lot of fans have a right to expect in late July.
Best Bet to Make
The statistics which make this match easy to bet on are very simple: Leylah Fernandez is 4-8 on hardcourts this year, while Alexandra Eala is 16-8 on hardcourts. That’s a big difference. Eala is playing well. Even though Fernandez played well against Linette, that one match is not enough to override Eala’s overall form and confidence. Take Eala to win the match.
That being said, betting on Eala winning is a value bet for sure.

Navarro – Cocciaretto: 14:00 EST
H2H: 1-2
Emma Navarro, as we have noted in these best bet articles over the past few months, has been a better player since the middle of May. She was having a very hard time but then found something in her game and was able to make some solid improvements. She made the Bad Homburg quarterfinals and the third round of Wimbledon. She came to this WTA Washington tournament in good form and beat Sofia Kenin in straight sets, as we told you she would. Her opponent, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, has dealt with injuries earlier this year. She beat Clara Tauson in the first round of this WTA Washington tournament. It was her first tour win since May. Let’s see if the Italian can build momentum here.
Best Bet to Make
Navarro has been a good player for the past few months. Cocciaretto just won her first match in two and a half months. It’s really hard to trust Cocciaretto here, while it’s a lot easier to trust Navarro. This might not be a straight-set win, so go with the game spread instead of the set spread for Navarro.
That being said, betting on Navarro -3.5 games is a value bet for sure.
Value bet/ the best odds: Navarro -3.5 games at 1.83 @bet365
Krueger – Osaka: 18:30 EST
H2H: 1-0
This is a very interesting match between Ashlyn Krueger and Naomi Osaka. Krueger made the Round of 16 at Wimbledon. She then came to the WTA Washington event and won her first-round match against Katie Boulter. The interesting thing with Krueger is that she is 16-2 on grass this year, but just 7-7 on hardcourts and 12-13 on all non-grass surfaces. Osaka is only 5-4 on hardcourts this year, but as we know, she has won four Major championships on hardcourts. Can Krueger play as well on hardcourts as she normally does on grass? That’s the big question for this match.
Best Bet to Make
Osaka is a proven player on hardcourts, even though her 5-4 record on the surface this year is not very impressive. Osaka made the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and might be about to rise even more in the WTA rankings. Expecting Osaka to win decisively seems like a reasonable standalone wager.
That being said, betting on Osaka winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.
Value bet/ the best odds: Osaka winning 2:0 at 1.89 @1xBet
