Dustin May’s ring collection grows
May now ties Mookie Betts for the most rings among active players after the Milwaukee Brewers won the 2026 World Series, beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1.
May started Game 4 for the Brewers, pitching three innings, allowing two runs on three hits, and striking out three.
For the second straight year, May was traded at the deadline, this time from the St. Louis Cardinals to the Brewers.
The deal proved a great move for May, who now adds another piece of jewelry to his collection.
He won three with the Dodgers: one in 2020, another in 2024, and a third in 2025. May didn’t pitch in 2024 and was with the team for only half a season in 2025, but he still got championship rings for his roster status.
Why the Dodgers moved on from May
May was a legit prospect who had elite stuff and looked to have the potential of possibly being a front-of-the-line pitcher.
At 22, the Dodgers added him to the postseason roster, and May played a key role for the 2020 team.
However, injuries and command struggles plagued May to the point that he was a shell of himself in 2025, posting a 4.85 ERA and a -0.4 bWAR.
The Dodgers shopped May at the deadline and got a great haul, including James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard, two prospects who have shined since joining LA.
May, for his part, bounced back in 2026 after a rough 2025, drew the Brewers’ attention, and is now a four-time champion.
